Crystal Clear

Crystal clear, I see it with my own eyes
it's the happiness that I want from the inside
a song that my heart sings,
away from this place of other people's despair
I've made it my own...
Can't concentrate because it's time to leave

What would it be like to have no fear?
What are we running from?
Is it ourselves, or the part of ourselves that we give away to others?

Of course they need us, we've created the need
Of course they want us, because we've given them;
a shoulder to lean on, a blanket to cover them from the cold

Sometimes we just need to be a little selfish,
otherwise we end up living our lives in someone else's movie
always playing the part of the lovable loser, the sensitive freak,
the caring fool

You know the drill, make everyone happy so you're miserable,
isn't that the game? appears so.

Unless, you cut the chords, knock down some doors, and sacrifice a little for your own good, your own sanity
Even if it means leaving with out a trace,
to a place that only exists inside,
with the beauty you've seen outside,
during momentary lapses of clarity and peace,
aside the deep blue sea,
crystal clear, the only way it can be.
