recluse: release

yesterday was gray
it was cold
lines on my face
make me feel old
wandering down paths
from the news that i stole
no more hiding

in between this place and the next
isolated by the night
i jump up and feel the city lights
warm, no need to retreat
just release and fight

today is bright
sun-light capped my fright
new stories to explain
future destiny to maintain
you never mentioned your disdain
but it doesn't matter to me
