Forever Gray

Soft, slightly olive skin, that pulsates as her dreams subside
a mind fog that is met with the dull tones of a day that feels

Forever gray

Her eyes scan an empty room and her mind can't release
what happened? why does today seem so blank?
Again she calls out for her lover, but her voice echoes
slowly, portions of her dreams recall...

She violently pulls the sheets aside and runs to the bathroom
water on, she splashes her face and looks in the mirror
her soft skin seems more tired in her own reflection
cheeks that have been worn by tears and trauma

Not wanting to accept her fears, she dresses and leaves
Maybe he did go get a cup of coffee?
I'm probably just coming down with a cold.
Things will make sense as soon as I find him.
